It's okay for you to feel weak
Because I believe in your strength.
It's okay to feel ugly
Because I'll always think you're beautiful.
It's okay to feel worthless
Because, to me, you are beyond precious.
I love you.
Wholly and completely.
And I do so
Simply because you are you.
No limits.
No conditions.
No terms.
It's the kind of love
That will last Beyond Forever.
Even if I'm younger than you
Or less experienced,
I want you to know
That you can lean on me.
I want you to trust me
Not just to keep your secrets
But to hold you up
When you're feeling down.
I want us to be Unafraid
To be Ourselves,
If only with Eachother.
You are my Friend.
You are my Family.
You are my Blood,
My Heart,
The Essence of my Soul.
And that will never change.
Promise.

This gem was inspired while writing a letter to my sister, who's currently in jail. I wanted her to know that I still believed in her and loved her even though she'd made some bad decisions; that I would never abandon her or stop loving her. I wrote the poem because I realized that I wanted the rest of the people in my life to know that too. It is they who make me feel strong, brave and valuable; and I do all I can to return those feelings to them. I hope you can all relate to this and enjoy the heartfelt honesty of it.
